The Esports Association of Malawi (EAM) is the official national governing body for esports in Malawi that is recognised by the Malawi National Sports Council (MSNC) in 2024. Established to develop and promote recognition of competitive video gaming in the nation.
To position Malawi as a vibrant hub for digital sports in Africa, where youth are empowered through technology, innovation, and competitive excellence.
To develop, regulate, and promote esports across Malawi by creating pathways for education, competition, and international representation while ensuring in-clusivity and digital literacy.
Esports is a growing global industry and an opportunity for Malawi to invest in the digital economy, youth employment, education, and cultural diplomacy. Through esports, EAM addresses SDGs such as Quality Education (SDG 4), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), and Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9) and
SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
